Service Project , Operation Pillowcase

At the last Saturday all day we talked about making & sending pillowcases to our service men & women in Afghanistan. There is a blog set up by a lady (Debra) in Texas who is coordinating the project. So far 250 pillowcases have been sent. We are working on the next unit of 500 pillowcases to be sent. So if you would like to help, it only takes a yd. of fabric & a few minutes of your time to make one. We are making standard sized pillowcases in medium & dark colors. Mostly for men but a few women in each unit to. I will be collecting & mailing them from our area. Melanie P. has already made 8!! And I made 18 so I will be getting them sent off next week. A large flat rate priority box will hold up to 30. I hoping to get a few more boxes in the mail by April 1st or so. Here are some links to a few pillowcase patterns online & also the blog link to Operation Pillowcase with lots of pictures. You can also contact me for more info. TIA Teresa
